The Dance Program
"Embracing Joy"

We are thrilled to welcome Brigitte Evering and Geoffrey Honey as our main facilitators this year!

Geoffrey and Brigitte have been joyfully sharing their love of circle dance since 1996. They co-facilitate a circle in Cobourg, dance in Ontario and have been familiar faces at Circle Dance Camp New England since 1998. Their clear and skillful teaching allows dancers to access a wide range of traditional and choreographed dances. Brigitte and Geoffrey have danced across North America and in the UK gathering dances like friends, to share with their communities. Geoffrey's positive energy and gentle strength ground the circle as he shares his passion for beautiful music and well-crafted steps. Brigitte's joyful fire invites dancers to warm themselves with dances from the simple and sweet, to faster and fancy. They are dedicated to creating a sacred space that holds everything from playful exuberance to quiet meditation. Come...join us in the dance... let's celebrate life and embrace joy together!

The Program
The main dance sessions with our guest teachers are offered every day, morning and evening. Dances are taught to all levels and are revisited frequently throughout the week.

Community Offerings
Community offerings are scheduled for early mornings and afternoons and have, in the past, included thematic dance work- shops, pottery classes, herb walks, building and walking a labyrinth, fun rituals, trance dance, tai chi, paneurythmy., kirtan, and sessions in dance notation and choreography. Let us know if you have some-thing to offer!

Evening Events
Evening events are a time for the entire camp to come to-gether in joyful celebrations, including a Cabaret, a fun sharing of talents, from the profound to the ridiculous. Tea and toast are served after evening dances, followed by community-led late night dancing.

Scratch Band/Live Music
In some years, participants have formed a Scratch Band that rehearsed several dance pieces to play at the evening dances. We welcome all who wish to bring their instruments and voices - no experience necessary - although the creation of a band depends upon who signs up each year.

Children
Children are welcome, but there is no organized program for them. Parents can arrange activities like swimming, nature explorations, crafts, and dance. Children must be supervised at all times.
